Sabiduría Montuna acknowledges that we are part of a community that, through our respect for and work with the earth, has for generations learned the ways to heal and support one another.
And this wisdom lives and grows in our Centro Comunitario (Community Center).
For years, we have been training, fundraising, and organizing Health Mentors classes across isolated rural communities in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean region through our annual initiatives. One of our deepest honors is being an honorary member of the Centro Comunitario Quebrada Arenas III—located in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, in the same mountain community that raised us.
100% of the funds generated through our services are reinvested into education projects at our Centro Comunitario. These initiatives are rooted in preserving and multiplying our innate, cultural, individual, and collective ancestral healing practices, including:
Ancestral herbal practices
Agriculture and food justice projects
Traditional Comadreo (companionship and community care)
Santigüadoras (sanctifying healers)
Community-led workshops responding to locally identified needs
All of this work is guided by a deep respect for the earth and the understanding that our healing traditions are inseparable from the land, our histories, and one another.
